Great news delicacies conceived by celebrity chef Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor may soon be on the platter of students studying in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country. In a recent event union HRD Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani said her ministry has decided to rope in Sanjeev Kapoor to prepare menu of food to be served at all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and to train the cooks of these residential schools.
According to Mrs. Irani, the decision has been taken with an aim to provide best facilities to the students of Navodaya schools, which are run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Bright students from humble family background take admission in these boarding schools. To provide facilities parallel to private boarding schools, we have decided to rope in celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor to prepare the menu of the food served in these schools," she said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of a JNV at Hathijan village near here.
"Apart from preparing the menu of these schools, Mr.Kapoor will also provide training to all the cooks of these boarding schools. Our aim is to make students feel that they are studying in a school which is no less than a private boarding school," the HRD Minister said. Reasons to send your Kids to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
Novodaya vidyalaya also known as Jawahar Navodaya vidyalaya (JNVs) are the government running boarding schools. These schools are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Government of India.
These schools offers free of cost education from class 6th to 12th. JNVs are situated in most of the districts of the India. There is no admission fee and no re-admission fee however the non below poverty line and General category male students of Class IX to XII are charged ₹200 per month in welfare of Vidyalayas called Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi fund. These schools admit the students on the bases of entrance exam after class 5th. Students selected for JNVs are thus the cream of the districts. These schools are for gifted students in India. The examination form can be collect from primary school of the kids. Every year every JNV select about 80 most meritorious students. The test encompasses reasoning/Mental ability skills, Maths, and Regional language. The school provides reservation as per mandate of Govt. of India, at least 75% selection of students from rural areas, maximum 25% from urban areas and fixed 33% to girl students
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are fully residential and co-educational schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, with classes from VI to XII standard. These schools were started by Shri Rajiv Gandhi. The motive behind running these schools was to provide convent schooling free of cost to the common population. His vision was to finding talented children in rural areas of India and providing them with an education equivalent to the best residential school system, without regard to their family's socio-economic condition.
These schools provide best education and work on the holistic development of the students.
They emphasize on the mind body soul development of the kids.

1. JNVs products are smart and cool
This is probably the best reason to go to Navodaya school. In a day boarding school or public school the kids who really want to learn frequently end up being social outcasts. Not so in Navodaya school. It's cool to be smart in boarding school. It's also very cool to learn together.
2. The classes are small.
In Navodaya schools the class size or section size use to be 35-40 max as compare to the other Govt or public schools where it may go up to 70-80 students in a class. You cannot hide in a class that small. You have to participate in class activities. You will get called upon for your response. You will never just be a number in a Navodaya school.
3. You will learn to be responsible for yourself.
You have to learn to get along with others because it is a family in navodaya. You learn to be responsible for your actions because you are bound by an honor or discipline code of some kind in school and hostel. The lessons in life learned in boarding school will lay a solid foundation for adulthood
You will make friends for life in Navodaya. You have to learn many skills in order to survive during your stay at JNV.
4. You will have great arts program
At Navodaya theater, dance, music, fine arts, in short, anything and everything artistic is part of the opportunity. Several schools have magnificent performing arts centers and museums halls.
5. The libraries/media centers are well-equipped at JNVs.
All JNVs are well equipped with good libraries. And media centers are also there in some schools. Samsung Navodaya combined efforts are their to provide media centers across some Schools .
6. Great teachers
Navodaya schools traditionally hire teachers with Post graduate degrees in their subjects. As well a large number of these experienced teachers have advanced degrees in their field. Typically all are passionate about their subject and love to teach it to students. Because discipline is rarely a problem in boarding school, these talented teachers get to teach without having to be traffic cops or paper pushers like their public school counterparts. Navodiyan Yaari Tere bin dil nhi dhadktaa with Bhuvi Prajapati ( Facebook page) जे.एन.वी के कुछ रास्ते हे... जहाँ मैं खोया हुया रह गया हूँ... यहाँ अक्सर मैं उस में से मिले हुए पलों को संजोता हूँ... वो मेरी जिंदगी का सबसे खुशनुमा वक्त था... वहां कि यादें कभी मुस्कुराने को कहती है, कभी रुला ही देती हैं... चाहे मेस कि आलू कम बैगन ज्यादा की सब्ज़ी हो या गंगा में रविवार की डुबकी। इन सबके बीच कितनी अकेली रातें हैं जिनमें मैं उस के सबसे करीब था.... पीली पीली रौशनी में भीगी सड़कें....
उफ्फ्फ्फ़ यादें आती है तो ठहरने का नाम ही नहीं लेती.
वो सुबह 5:30 बजे न उठकर...... PT सर की डॉट खाने का मज़्ज़ा ही कुछ और था.... वो 7:00 बजे वाली प्रेयर में आगे वाले लड़के की टांग की खीचने वाला मज़ा ही कुछ और था..... वो 8;00 बजे वाली *हिस्ट्री की class bunk करने का मज़ा ही कुछ और था.... वो दोस्तों के साथ एक थाली में खाना खाने का मज़ा ही कुछ और था..... वो शाम 6:00 बजे की चाय साथ में 4 बिस्किट्स का मज़ा ही कुछ और था.... वो ग्राउंड में दोस्तों की टोली के साथ मस्ती करने में मज़ा ही कुछ और था.....
